 WC TV Schedule/More

The only ESPN network not showing games.

Yesterday, ESPN announced the full 2010 FIFA World Cup schedule, which includes 44 ESPN games, 10 ESPN2 games and 10 ABC games (all in HD). The United States kicks off its 6th-straight World Cup finals Saturday, June 12 against England at 1 p.m. CT on ABC. The USA will then play Slovenia Friday, June 18 at 8:30 a.m. CT on ESPN and Algeria Wednesday, June 23 at 8:30 a.m. CT on ESPN. All ESPN and ESPN2 broadcasts will be simulcast live online at ESPN360.com, with ABC matches re-shown later on the website. For the full match schedule, click above.

As most of you know by now, Landon Donovan scored his first EPL goal yesterday in Everton's 2-0 victory over Sunderland. Donovan's calm settle and finish drew praise from Everton boss David Moyes, among others. Check out Steve Goff's rundown of what the British papers said about USA's #10. (Everton fans were chanting "USA, USA" after Donovan scored. Think that'll happen June 12 when he scores? [Count that as a bold prediction])

Ives Galarcep has been nominated by Soccerlens as the best Football writer of 2009. That's a pretty big honor for an American, as he's up against four from the islands. Go vote for your favorite.
