Today, MLS announced some players that will be available to clubs come January in the MLS SuperDraft. The League has signed college seniors Andre Akpan (Harvard University), Zach Loyd (UNC-Chapel Hill) and Toni Stahl (University of Connecticut). The underclassmen who have signed as part of the Generation adidas program are Teal Bunbury (Akron University), Dilly Duka (Rutgers University), Blair Gavin (Akron University) and Jack McInerney (US U-17/Cobb Soccer Club).
There are plenty of connections to the Wizards in this group. Loyd played with Michael Harrington for a year at North Carolina. Bunbury is the son of former Wizards forward Alex Bunbury (and will become the first son of an MLS player to play in MLS). McInerney played here for the U.S. U-17s in the run-up to the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
What do you think of this group? Anyone you'd like to see Kansas City select? Let us know if you've seen any of these guys play.
