Kori Quinn (middle) on the field with a pair of friends during warm-ups of our match Saturday. Read more about her foundation. In the last couple of years, we've posted a few of these "stories". We told you about Will Daniel and last week's opponent Andy Williams. Earlier this year we told you about Miguel Jimenez and Kori Quinn. Well, Kori has a story that we hope continues for quite some time. The Kansas City Star got in on the act last week, filling the public in on Kori's latest quest to help others at a time when many would be thinking only of themselves.
In the story, the Star mentions an upcoming 5K hosted by the I-ROK (Kori backward) Foundation. I-ROK stands for Imagine Getting Rid Of Kancer. The 5K will take place this Saturday, September 5 at 8 a.m. at Excelsior Springs High School in Excelsior Springs, MO. If you're a runner (or a walker) and want to help out this extraordinary girl raise funds for Children's Mercy Hospital, head to their website and register for the race. While you're there, make sure to view the wish list of things that would brighten the days of kids at Children's Mercy Hospital. Pick up a couple of these items and bring them to the race.
Kori, keep it up. Your story is incredible and we love getting the opportunity to tell it.
