 The Schedule is Out - UPDATE

It's now public. What do you think? We play every team twice, with three games against New England and D.C. United. Over at www.kcwizards.com, we have wallpapers available with the 2009 schedule and a PDA/Outlook calendar download that should be up soon. UPDATE-We had the wrong date on the Colorado Rapids home game when the wallpaper was first uploaded. That will be fixed shortly and available again for download. Sorry for those of you who had the wrong image downloaded already!

Schedule Highlights:
· Kansas City plays 12 of 15 home games on Saturday. Others include:
· One (1) Wednesday (May 6)
· One (1) Thursday (April 23 on ESPN2)
· One (1) Sunday (Aug. 16 on Telafutura)
· 12 of 14 night games begin at 7:30 p.m. CT.
· April 23 match vs. New York Red Bulls on ESPN2 starts at 7 p.m. CT.
· July 4 match vs. Houston Dynamo starts at 8 p.m. CT with fireworks to follow.
· Wizards appear on national television 6 times.
· ESPN2 (April 23)
· Fox Soccer Channel 3 (April 18, May 9, May 23)
· Telafutura 2 (Aug. 16, Oct. 4)
· Seattle Sounders FC makes first appearance in Kansas City on Oct. 17.
· Defending MLS Cup Champion Columbus Crew visit Kansas City June 6.
· Wizards conclude regular season at home for 5th time in 14 seasons Oct. 24 vs. D.C. United.
· Kansas City opens season at home for 10th time March 21 vs. Toronto FC.
· Wizards are 7-0-2 all-time in season-opening home games.
· Kansas City plays D.C. United and New England Revolution 3 times.
· D.C. United is the only team to visit CommunityAmerica Ballpark twice in MLS play.
· The Wizards will play at Gillette Stadium twice, where they are 6-1-4 all-time.
· MLS is in active discussions with HDnet to continue broadcasting games on the first all-high definition national television network. HDnet has partnered with MLS since 2003.
· Please check kcwizards.com in the coming weeks for game promotions, themes and events.
· All Metro Sports broadcasts will feature 30-minute pre-game and 30-minute post-game shows.
· Sean Wheelock will serve as the voice of the Wizards for the 11th season.
· Zoran Savic will be the color commentator for the 2nd season.

Will the Wizards provide the schedule on Google Calendar finally this year?

really unbalanced season. Or are they giving players time off in summer for heat or other games?

Don't forget that we're in SuperLiga this year. While SuperLiga schedules haven't been announced yet, they will likely come during the times our MLS load is the lightest.
