After a crazy birthday weekend of partying, Hillcrest Road is back after a couple of morning aspirins (jokes folks, jokes). The boys get back to training in about ten minutes, so if you're off or sick or otherwise not busy, head out to Swope Park to see them in action. They leave for Florida Wednesday for two weeks of training down in Bradenton (just south of Tampa).
Though we now know he didn't get in the game, check out the St. Louis Post Dispatch's story about Jack Jewsbury that ran Saturday morning before the U.S. National Team match. Also note that Roger Espinoza didn't make it into the match in a 4-1 win for Honduras Saturday night against Nicaragua. The bicolor did advance to the semis, however, which means that they will be in action at the CONCACAF Gold Cup later this year in addition to their Hexagonal World Cup qualifying dates. Honduras, and possibly Roger, will be busy on the international front this year. Good and bad for Wizards fans, as we might be without Espinoza's services at times.
Also, David Streeter posted at the Topeka Capital-Journal local sports blog a story based on an interview he did with our favorite Robb. He covers our first year at CAB and then looks ahead to our second year at CAB and our future home near the former Bannister Mall. Read and enjoy.
A bit late, but read Ives Galarcep's breakdown of the MLS expansion race. Always fun to read and think about.
